As time goes on, I realize more and more that the less you do to change things, the more things stay the same. That should be an obvious statement, but it came to me as an epiphany today. My life has always been about change, so to realize that things in my life lately are pretty stagnant has made me happy, but also it depresses me.
I graduated from college more than a year ago. Currently living in the town I grew up in, hanging out with friends I've had for years, working an 8-hour job, dealing with the corporate cog.
My (short) dating experience was an abundance of cheating, dumping, lying, and general mindfucks ...and, now, around the corner is my boyfriend and my three year anniversary? Weird.
A year ago I was relaxing from the last camping trip of the year, listening to my boyfriend talk about Dead Rising, and singing Daft Punk's "Work It Harder Make It Better... Do It Faster Makes Us stronger..."
Tonight, I am doing laundry from our last camping trip of the summer, laughing at my boyfriend --as Frank West-- killing zombies with golf clubs, and listening to Stronger.
Creepy.

Hmm, not to get all Hindu on you here, but I find that the less you try to change things, the more you'll find that it's yourself that changes, not the things around you. I don't know, maybe things for me have been changing like crazy, but for the most part I think its perspective. In any case, I hope whatever happens you are happy :)
