But they've got planes and trains and cars...

My mother is impossible to reach, as she is a social butterfly, somewhat inconsistent, and does not know how to check her voicemail. Somehow, by the grace of God, I was able to catch her via telephone while sitting in traffic. Batting half-hearted insults, she threw out, "You are either doing very well, or very poorly. No in between. HA HA HA HA!"

Why, thank you, Mother, you are full of wisdom. And kindness.

Sometimes I wonder when I became the person I've become, and what my younger-self would say to me (or *gulp* think of me) if I were able to pull her out of photographs. She'd probably spontaneously combust, with all that defying space and time going on, you know.

I'm fancying the idea of quitting my job to learn guitar and play on the streets for tips. Anyone have a good street corner?

Boston/Cambridge has many many great places to busk. While playing the Lilith Fair, Mary Lou Lord was still busking on Newbury Street. Harvard Square is a great place. In fact, Mary Lou recorded an album while busking, recorded mostly at the Park Street T stop.
