Ten nine eight and I'm breaking away
It's become obvious to me that my boyfriend's parents are uncomfortable around me. Part of this is because I'm uncomforable around them. I know this, because we talk to each other through the dog. Or to the dog instead of each other. (Also, I'm not too hot on this dog either; I'll talk more about that another time.)
I'm not sure how I feel about this.
Everyone's family is different. It's just difficult to go from my douting parents to his individualistic parents. Not bad, just different.

My current gf's parents hate me, which is annoying and stressful. At least your bf's will acknowledge your existence. lol

You are dating HIM not his parents, so what does it really matter in the big picture. And if he doesn't want to date you because his parents don't approve then he probably isn't the man you thought he was. But to be honest... what parents wouldn't approve of you?? Think about it... there has to be something wrong with them, right?

At least it's "uncomfortable" and not "hate." Uncomfortable can be worked on. When Emily & I were doing the white trash living with my parents thing, it was uncomfortable at first. Now my mom & her get along great. I'm pretty sure she'd take Em's side in an argument now.

I think that my boyfriend's parents hate me. And he says that there is no doubt that they do. But they've never met me, so he's just being a dick.
