There's a part of me that has always wished I were a minimalist. Seriously, how great would it be to live a life of clean lines, clean colors, and clean sheets? Linen and natural and fiberous, with just the bare necessities. Every once in a while I get in a mood to simplify my life, to go through and throw things out, because really, who needs things?
I have blue lipgloss from 2000 that I keep holding onto because maybe someday I'll live next to someone in dire need of coloring their lips with something that makes them look like they're dead and/or dying.
Well, today is one of those simplifying days. I've thrown out my old mascara. I threw away a full bottle of expired multi-vitamins. I took a shower and I didn't dry my hair. I took out the trash. My body ached, and so rather than stretch or walk or chew on Vicodin, I simply minimized movement.
Too bad my room looks like the opposite of minimalism. True minimalism? That'll probably never happen for me.

You seem to have a great grasp of minimalist-style design at least, if iamafish is any indication. :)

You can't have everything... besides... where would you put it?

Stacy, I'm like the QUEEN of organization. If I ever head out to your neck of the woods I'll stop by and whip your apartment into shape. Though in exchange, I'd ask you to point me in the direction of some cheese. Your bf totally rocks for taking you to a cheese factory for your bday!

There is no way I can minimalize. Sad.

Clutter = personality. Never forget that.

alan, the protagonist is an ambitious young woman who can't settle down. Not only is there the specter of drug use, militant multiculturalism, moral decay, and rut-rut-rutting; it has cross dressers, gay men, liberal Jews. No, iamnottalkingaboutstacy iamreferingto iamcharlottesimmons by Tom Wolfe. It was published just five years ago. Make it a tryst with your beautiful lover by reading it together then screwing the hell out of each other--I did. Feeeeeeeeeeel goooood. Oh yeah, don't confuse minimalism with personal financial conservatism.

I like the concept of minimalism. At times I love to keep things simple and easy... I admire your shot at it. :)
