Sometimes I feel like every other person I am surrounded by in public is speaking Korean. And, maybe it's because they think no one can understand their conversations, but they are extremely annoying. I am constantly rolling my eyes and thinking, Another Korean person? Maybe it's just because I'm used to American English, and Korean is very "whiny" (that's the best way I can describe it) sounding in comparison.
I remember I was once at the library, and these two Korean girls kept complaining about how it was too cold. "Chu wuh" this and "chu wuh" that. Yeah, I get it, you think it's cold --do you really have to dwell on it for the fifteen minutes I am checking my email?
Okay, I will stop procrastinating now, and do the rest of my homework.

I wish I was bilingual. It'd make life a hell of a lot more interesting, especially when I was cursing. Unfortunately, my ex refused to teach my Tagalog swear words, and we never learnt much outside of 'I love you' so that idea died before it could gain any steam. lol

Swedish is my mother tongue, but I speak English too and understand Danish and Norwegian too because they're very similar to Swedish.
Judging from my own experiences, people are far more whiny when they think other people don't understand them. Overhearing other Swedes, Norwegians, Danes, Britons and Americans on vacation often sucks as they all (even the Britons and Americans, though they're understood by everyone, to some degree, everywhere) tend to complain about _everything_ that's not exactly as in their home country. Food, weather, language, skin color, culture or whatever it might be...

i wish i was bilingual as well. i understand/speak a little french (un peu, as they say), but its never really been an issue. right now, the lack of the ability to speak spanish is preventing me from obtaining a job. unfortunate!

I wish I was bilingual. I studied Japanese for many years but can barely speak it. Now the language I wish I knew is Spanish, among others, but it seems not fated to be, but who knows.

I know what you mean. Good luck with your homework

I know what you mean; primary languages are a pain in ass simplistic after learning English. Alan, Tagalog's a bit of tongue-clicker of a language. When Hawaiians hear Tagalog, they make fun of it... know what they call it? They call it buk-buk. That's right! Ethnics with only 10 alphabets in their language call my primary language by two unaspired bilabials. Que Barbaridad! Stacy, you can always tell them to whine in English like I do. However, be prepared for the fray. No one expects the Spanish Fray. Our chief weapons are surprise, and ruthless efficiency of our bilabials! Yes, surprise, efficiency and lack of common decency! And an almost fanatical devotion to racism by way of multiculturalism! (insert Cheney scowl)

Haha... try hanging out in Asian American Christian circles. Your head spins. >
You should cuss them out in Korean and tell them to lower their voices before you smack them.
