Moving Using Craigslist

I'm moving in a month, away from this college town, and I'm trying to sell a few things on Craigslist. I love CL, I really do. I dislike some of the morons I encounter though. Like, the people that tell you they're going to visit you and then totally flake out on you --or the people that don't say whether or not they're going to come visit and then BAM at 9pm they're at your door. Umm, hello, common courtesy anyone?

Then, of course, there is email etiquette. (Which no one has anymore.) For example, I am selling a window mountable air conditioner, so I get this email:

DID YOU BUY IT NEW? WHERE DID YOU BUY IT AND HOW MUCH DID IT COST? HOW BIG OF A ROOM/AREA DO YOU COOL WITH IT? THE BTU AMOUNT SHOULD BE ON THE STICKER ON SIDE OF UNIT-THANX DOT

Yell much? Also, I clearly said that there are no distinguishable stickers or numbers on the item, so I have no idea what the BTU amount is! All the questions you asked could be answered in the post I made! Read, moron. Sheesh.

Or how about the very random:

Where do you live?

I already put my town in the post! You know where I live!

I also don't appreciate the people who simply email me with their phone numbers. No name, no message... just phone number. Do you want me to call you? It would have been easy if you had just said so...

Convenience + Simplicity = Morons

Your closing statement summed it all up!

I think we are getting too caught up in convenience and as a part of this generational dumbing down, convenience and isolating ourselves from humans is what we're after. Then again, dealing with certain people in person is a pain and the computer is great!

But do you think that half these people on CL would even use the service if it weren't so "convenient?"

Get a job somehwere? (I should've typed this in all CAPS ;-)

Yea, sometimes you have to be careful on CL also.

SO FAR SO GOOD WITH CL FOR ME!!!!!1one1

Sorry. But seriously, I found my apartment and furniture on CL with no problem. Where ya movin?

When I was trying to rent one of the apartments, I tried craigslist and got so many people who thought it was in Boston, even though it clearly stated it was in Fitchburg. Same thing with ebay. Doesn't matter if you list if it's been opened or what the shipping is, someone will ask you.
