I Am A Fish

I wonder what my grades will be like this term...

The term is wrapping up; final exams are next week. The recent dialogue I've had with my professors leads me to believe I may not be doing so hot in my classes. If I am absent from this blog in the next week or so --like I should be if I want to get anything done-- this is why:

The other day, I was checking the syllabus for my Inventing Ethnic America class to see how many absences I could have for the term, since I already had two. Apparently, none. And, of course, he takes attendance everyday. Oops. Too bad, on average, I set the curve for the course. I'm not boasting --I think this is what happens when a person waits until their senior year to take a freshman intro course.

Last night was my last class of Ethnohistory Methodology. There were three assignments for that class and the professor had only graded one of mine; I got a B. I was a bit worried, so I asked him, "Were my research projects sufficient?" He replied with a stuttered, "Yeah, but you could do more, you going to be here next year?" I happily said, "NOPE!" --almost added "SUCKAH!" (but I didn't). I am SO tired of professors trying to string me into their daily routines of research, research, research. In June, I will be free, and I won't feel bad about that.

I'm also taking a Math for Business course. I loathe it, and I will pass, but I don't know if I will do very well if there is no curve.

I don't think I went to enough Modern Political Thought classes to do well on the final exam without some intense studying. Grr!

And, my final class this term? My favorite, Environmental Politics and Policy. I thought I was doing extremely well in that class until I got my briefing memo back today. My topic was Salvage Logging --a huge topic and very difficult to explain/describe with a 800 word maximum. My score was a 90%. His comment was:

"This is a good introduction to most of the issues involved in the controversy over salvage logging, but --rather curiously-- it somehow omits a notable part of the political context over dispute."

I can never see eye to eye my professors... Or is that they just can't see eye to eye with ME?
