There are things you love and then, there are guilty pleasures. I love Law & Order --and if you'll listen, I'll tell you why and how much better than CSI it is. Law & Order is better because it has Jerry Orbach (RIP), and CSI is lame because it has William L. Peterson. And Law & Order is a gazillion times infinity better than CSI.
Sex and the City is my guilty pleasure. Okay, one of my guilty pleasures. I do not wear "I heart Sex & the City" gear, nor do I host Sex and the City dvd viewing parties. I figure that I have two groups of friends. Group A already knows and loves Sex and the City, and Group B has never watched the show and probably never will.
And, yet, and this is a HUGE mystery to me, I get asked about the show way more often than I think I should. Why would my friends automatically assume that I would enjoy a show about four single thirty-year-old women talking about their sex lives?
Someone needs to borrow the dvds? They ask me. Want to burn the cds? Yeah, go ahead, ask me. What's Big's real name? John? And, was Charlotte's wedding dress a Badgley Mishka or Vera Wang? Wait, which wedding dress? Manolo Blahniks, what? He's just not that into you!
The answer is not "all girls like Sex and the City." Candace borrowed the first season from me once, and returned it with two comments. "Hated it," and "The clothes are ugly."
(And, by the way, no one has ever called me a Carrie. A Miranda yes, a Samantha usually, and once a Charlotte. But never a Carrie.)

Yeah, not too many who feel they are Carrie are actually ever categorized as a Carrie... Odd.
