I made these for a few friends and they thought they tasted like Toll House cookies, even though they are just generic chocolate chip cookies (so I don't know if that's a compliment or not). Once upon a time I thought buying a ten pound bag of chocolate chip cookies from Costco was a good idea, and I'm still suffering from that "good idea."
GENERIC CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
2-1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking sode
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Stir flour with baking soda and salt; set aside. In large mixer bowl, beat butter with sugar and brown sugar until creamy. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, mix on low speed until incorporated. Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie. Bake for about 10 minutes, give or take a minute by preference.
Instead of cooked cookies on a wire rack, I put them on paper towels. Easy, quick to clean up, and I get to see the towels soak up grease (which is always entertaining).
