I was watching Hal Sparks on tv the other day and he recited the most beautiful Chinese poem.
The sword gets its sharpness from adversity.
The flower gets its beautiful smell from the bitter winter.
He explained it by saying: "Meaning you're not really you fully until you've been through something hard. You hammer a sword a thousand times to make it sharp, and that's what life does to you. If you remember that when things get hard, you'll grow from it and have strength. As opposed to collapsing underneath it, you'll know that it's all part of you becoming the best version of you."
