I Am A Fish

I can't stand this anymore; I have to get out

This is my second year as an RA, and I am truly fed up with it all.

Old digital camera image circa 2003 - 5I like my residents. Probably the coolest bunch of freshmen I've ever met. Even my experience in the dorms my first year wasn't this much fun. We have fun together and we respect each other.

Unfortunately, I don't like my staff, and I don't think moving to a new staff is an option right now. I am honestly willing to leave and sacrifice my job more than I am willing to stick it out for the rest of the year. I think I've said it before, but my staff is really into themselves. It's getting old. I'm sorry, but no one person can ALWAYS be right and ALWAYS be perfect.

And my RD is no help whatsoever. I've tried talking to her, but she acts like she's so "above" us even though she's not that much older. I don't like her "holier than thou" attitude. I know her husband is a pastor, but come on with the 'tude.

I've been thinking about this for a while now, and all in all, I'm unhappy with OSU, and figuring it's the only college I even applied to, I'm wishing I had researched it more (though I am proud of myself for taking the initiative of going to college). Maybe I need a more liberal environment. Unfortunately, I'm sort of tied down to a public university in Oregon, because I can't afford private school or out of state tuition... but I'm applying to other colleges as we speak.

I have to try new things.
