"I'm tired."
I hear this a lot from people. Their eyes appear droopy and they have bad posture because of lack of sleep. I'm the opposite. I'm quite cheery and bright. I often hear, "You look cute today," "Wow, you're happy," or "Bright-eyed and bushy tailed, eh?" Actually... no.
I'm tired. Let's check out a typical day for me:
6:20 - radio alarm goes off
6:30 - irritating alarm goes off
6:35 - brush teeth, get dressed, drink water
6:45 - leave for class
7:00 - step aerobics w/ Mary
8:15 - have breakfast, watch the news
9:00 - shower
10:00 - study at library, read the news, check email
12:30 - class
2:00 - piano lessons
3:00 - lunch with friends, then study session
5:00 - Resident Assistant meeting
6:00 - staff dinner
7:00 - staff meeting
10:00 - end of staff meeting (either go for a run, do some more hw, watch a movie with residents)
REPEAT (in some fashion or another)
Oh goodness. Just looking at it overwhelms me. How do I live like this? I am definitley drowning.
But I am not physically drained as much as I am emotionally drained. When a person is having NO fun, work feels even more like work (if that makes any sense).
